Seaview Extends Commitment

 Seaview Extends Commitment

Seaview has reached a multiyear extension through 2023 to continue hosting the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer.

Seaview, managed by Troon Golf, has hosted the annual LPGA stop since 1998; the event has been contested in the Atlantic City area since 1986. The course also hosted the 1942 PGA Championship, which was won by the legendary Sam Snead. The Bay Course opened in 1914 and was designed by Hugh Wilson and Donald Ross.

“We are thrilled to return to Stockton Seaview under a new multiyear commitment,” said Tim Erensen, Executive Director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic. “The Bay Course is one of the LPGA players’ favorite annual stops and Reeds Bay provides one of the most scenic backdrops in all of professional golf. We want to thank our partners at Troon and Stockton Seaview, and look forward to continued success.”

“We are delighted that Stockton Seaview will continue to host such a prestigious golfing event,” said Dr. Harvey Kesselman, Stockton University President. “Over the years, thousands of visitors have witnessed some of the most exciting finishes on the LPGA tour by such legendary champions as Annika Sorenstam, Betsy King and Se Ri Pak. Stockton is proud to participate in an event that not only promotes tourism and business, but also helps support charitable organizations throughout South Jersey.”

The  Seaview extension follows a multiyear commitment recently announced with ShopRite to extend its title sponsorship of the tournament through 2023.

The ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer is home to Golf’s Largest Pro-Am. Each year it attracts 65,000 fans to Atlantic County and has crowned legends of the game including Nancy Lopez, Betsy King, Annika Sorenstam, Se Ri Pak, Juli Inkster and Karrie Webb.
